Dear friends,

I have just finished speaking with all the boys in George’s Place – this takes some time as everyone comes to speak with me separately! Shadrach connects me to the television so that they can all see me clearly – great at 7.30 am! They had just finished morning worship – looking at the ‘wise and foolish builders’ and learning about building their lives on Jesus. It was good to see them all and also to speak with Halima one of our cooks, Martin our social worker, Sam the warden and Shadrach. Martin is going to follow up on the older boys who are now settled in their accommodation and working to let me know how they are progressing. Big Brian returned to Don Bosco Vocational Institute last Sunday in preparation for his final term and examinations on welding and metalwork.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.” Jeremiah 17 v7/8

I had a long report from Peace this week our Senior Social Worker, who informed me that some of the boys have had coughs and colds and have visited the clinic but apart from that everyone is fine.

Homeschooling continues at George’s Place with teacher Francis. Mary’s art classes are a real success, (as you can see by the dried masks and serious drawing taking place in the photos which arrived last Sunday). The boys are to start making seasonal greetings cards and mosaic art which I am sure they will also enjoy. Rose the lady who teaches handicrafts is now showing the boys how to make women’s wallets and table mats with beads, some of our boys really excel in these crafts.

Many thanks for your continued love, prayers and support for the boys.

Jane
