2nd September, 2018

Dear friends,

We were out and about last week and I returned home from KK Beach on Saturday evening exhausted. I had a quiet day yesterday and am feeling much better now.

Bob and I had travelled to Ibanda, about 7 hrs drive from Kampala on Thursday to see Anton and his family and to look at land for him to possibly start a small agricultural business. This obviously needs to be prayed about and looked into by Nora our lawyer. The area is beautiful, surrounded by hills, green and fertile – everywhere there was an abundance of fruit and vegetables to buy. In his village we were able to give out lots of the wonderful knitted teddies and jumpers that so many of you have been making and these were greatly appreciated by the children, also sticky lollipops – sweets are such a treat here. On our return I bought another large drum from one of the ‘shacks’ along the side of the road for our boys as they love music, dancing and drumming. Anton returned with us.

‘And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God’
Micah 6:8

The boys went swimming during the week, ending up in my home as Bob had got stuck in traffic, they enjoyed cups of tea with bread and jam – until I had run out!
They also played lots of football at the pitch near the school and visited Munyonyo. Flavia came most days and helped the boys with their school homework in the mornings, she is fitting in well.

And so another week begins, time passes quickly, and the boys are all growing up fast.

Please continue to pray for the work of Homes of Promise, the boys – all the challenges and temptations that they face – that they will make good and right decisions even at this young age. I’ve spent a lovely morning with the older boys sitting, talking and listening to them – laughing and enjoying their company.

Thank you for all your love and support.

Jane
