I’m home from work today (Friday) as I was unwell yesterday but believe I’m on the mend. Unfortunately, I missed the Thanksgiving Day celebrations at MCC with some of our friends from the USA yesterday evening. It has been a very warm week and Ian tells me there is a ‘bug’ going around which doesn’t last long, thankfully.
Sadly, I received news that Sue Parks one of our former trustees had passed away this morning. I visited her in Exeter when I was back in September and knew she was very ill and had stopped all treatments. I met Sue when I first came to Uganda in 2013 and appreciated her kindness, knowledge and wisdom as I settled here. She was a good friend, always supportive and interested in our work. We had twice visited Israel together and she had stayed with me on several occasions. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
All is well at George’s Place, the young boys are having an end of year celebration at school Saturday afternoon, Robert is graduating into Primary 1, our other boys are going to be involved in the entertainment. Kasita and Musumba have arrived back home from Secondary school and we are expecting Victor and Saviour who are doing their catering exams today to probably be back over the weekend. Sula doesn’t take his exams until early December.
‘And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, love mercy and to walk humbly with your God’. Micah 6:8
Tresor went with Augustine to Kayunga on Wednesday to finish the floor of Dan’s home, Dan’s sisters had all gone to visit their mother’s family for a few days and only George and Ronald were with the dad which made it easier. The dad says it’s wonderful not to have ‘insects etc.’ in the house. Augustine has done a good job, he also took George to pick maize for their supper – the girls arrived home the next day.
On Wednesday evening Christine and I went to see the puppy I picked up from the roadside in August that Trudy and her daughter have homed, she is called Lula and has grown considerably. They have chickens and turkeys roaming around the compound so is at present being tied up! It was good to see her happy and healthy.
Petra’s daughter came to the office on Wednesday and took photos of her mum and I unbeknown to us – I thought she was playing games on my iPad but even at 4 yrs. old managed to find the camera and snap!
On Tuesday evening we had a virtual Trustees meeting which went well, my thanks to Revd. Ian, Geoff, Heather and James for all their support.
Thank you for all your love, support and prayers especially at this time when the boys are all home from school/college and election campaigns are happening all over the country.
With love and blessings.
