A typical day at George’s Place and meeting Ole

Dear friends,

Bob and I went to Kisenyi and found S-P and some of his friends, we explained that he could come back any time and that we wouldn’t force him to see his family.  Bob bought them all chapatis as they were dirty and hungry – we couldn’t do anything more than give food and offer help, but S-P wouldn’t come with us. We didn’t see Sandy or Ivan but we’re told they are still in the area.

It’s been a quiet week, we did take the boys to Munyonyo beach and had fun.  Sharon is working really well teaching the boys English three times a week, some of the younger ones are becoming more confident in talking to me now.

‘The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged.’ Deuteronomy 31 v 8 

A typical day for the boys, Monday to Friday, is as follows:

• Waking, bathing, washing their clothes/bed linen/towels by hand;
• Housework (sweeping, washing floors, cleaning bathrooms and toilets) helping prepare food (this is done on a rota); as Tim is at school during the week he cleans the house on Saturdays.
• Breakfast, worship and prayer time,
• Lessons – English, maths, social studies or science,
• Break, lunch, sometimes another hour of lessons,
• Board games, jigsaws, football, and a couple of times a week a visit to Munyonyo or swimming, Afternoon tea (black tea with either g-nuts, popcorn, banana pancakes, bread and blueband, or fruit, sometimes with a bible story from me,
• TV time, dancing, supper, prayers and bed.
• Some are growing tomato plants which need watering, plus looking after the two cockerels they have – which they tell me they will eat as soon as I am out of the country!

Two of the boys have both visited the clinic this week as they have been unwell but are on the mend now.
