Kasita – Visiting Day, Dennis back home, Beckham’s sister visits, home tutoring.

Afternoon Tea and update on the work of Homes of Promise on Sunday 14th April 2.30-4.30pm at The Charis Centre, Jesus Church, Forty Hill, EN2 9EU.

I spoke to all the boys at George’s Place last Monday which was lovely. Victor and Saviour who were back for a few days had been busy cooking beef and rice for lunch, which Tresor tells me was good. I had the opportunity to talk with the new boys as well, though Issac said he didn’t speak to people he didn’t know! They’re looking very settled. Joshua had also arrived for Easter.

On Good Friday the boys were in a football tournament at the Academy where they each played 5 games, consequently they were exhausted when they got home, they did win some of the matches!

‘For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ Ephesians 2 v8/10

Some news from this week:

• Kasita was visited by Petra on visiting day as she lives near the school at Mukono – he is doing well and has grown, he is getting taller and taller.
• Benard took Johnson back to the hospital for an eye appointment and he now has to wear his glasses all the time except in bed and showering!
• Big Dennis arrived back home last Friday as he had been in class in sandals and not his proper school shoes – he might just be being awkward as he knows he should have shoes on – Benard is off this weekend so I’ll try and find out what has gone on tomorrow.
• Beckham’s sister arrived on Saturday afternoon at the home (unexpectedly) with her baby to see Beckham
• The younger boys have been off school so there has been home tutoring going on.
• Three young birds had fallen from one of the trees in the compound but were put back in the nest – hope they survive.
• It rained this Saturday so swimming was postponed.

I’ve been away again for a couple of nights visiting friends in Frinton-on-Sea and enjoyed a walk at Walton on the Naze on Friday morning, it was really windy but not too cold.

I only have 9 days left before I return to Uganda, the time has gone so quickly, but I’ve enjoyed and appreciated catching up with family and friends. I do hope to see some of you next Sunday afternoon at the tea. Thank you for all your interest and involvement in our work.
