“It is probably as much a surprise to me as to my family that I find myself living and working in Africa at this stage of my life.  I first visited Uganda in 2013 to meet a child I had been sponsoring through a local charity and seeing their work with poor families living in rural areas in the south west of the country.

After returning home I couldn’t settle, as I had been so deeply affected by what I had seen and experienced. I sought God and His calling on my life through prayer, and decided to return for three months staying in Kampala and travelling around the country. During this time, I became aware of the Lord leading me do something practical to help relieve the extreme poverty suffered by widows with children and the plight of street children.

After much prayer from many friends and church family, we were prompted to start Homes of Promise with a mission to offer relief of poverty and suffering to the poorest of the poor in Uganda. I now live in Kampala whilst overseeing this work.

The aim of the Charity is the prevention or relief of poverty in Uganda – providing or assisting in the provision of shelter, housing, education, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and become self-sufficient.”
