Little Angels primary school breaks up, some of the older boys back home, Tresor and Soleil celebrate their 1st Wedding Anniversary

Dear friends,

The younger boys broke up from school on Wednesday. I haven’t as yet seen a copy of their school reports but I did get a chance to talk with them last Sunday and they were confident I will be pleased!

Tresor visited Saidi today, Saturday, in boarding school, we thought he was returning home but being in a candidate class this has been postponed, he can come back next Tuesday but then needs to return to school the following week to study for his exams, which will be in September. I did get a chance to chat with him and was introduced to his friend Timothy as well. He is doing so well, I’m really pleased with his progress.

Young Denis has arrived back home from Don Bosco where he is on a building/decorating course and also Musumba is back from Trinity High School, I did get a chance to talk with him today, though he also will be returning to school on Monday to study. He told me he has had ulcers and been on medication; their diet is very limited at school, mostly posho and beans. Today some of the young boys went with Benard to Kitala Worship Harvest church, for a leadership session.

We have had contact from Charles’s father who is planning to visit George’s Place next week, Charles has really settled and quietened down since we found his father so hopefully this will be another good reunion, Charles won’t be able to stay with him over the holidays as the home has no furniture in it.

The four new boys have been enjoying the bikes and are now becoming expert riders! Tresor is looking at finding tyres with no inner tubes as the bikes are getting punctures regularly.

It was Tresor and Soleil’s 1st wedding anniversary on the 9th and after Tresor visited Musumba’s school for a parents meeting, they went out for a meal together, he tells me Soleil made a list of things that had gone well during their year together with another list of things that they need to work on! Congratulations to them both.

Brian, Joshua and Kodet will be back at George’s Place next week when their schools/college break up. Dan is wanting to go back to his family during the holidays and I’m sure some of the others will as well.

Thank you for all your love and support. I’m planning to return to Uganda before the end of the month – I’ve really enjoyed my time here and seeing so many of you.
