All back at school, Bethel goes into boarding school with his brothers, Dan returns. Benard has a week off.
Sunday 31st May 2026
Dear friends,
The weather has been amazing in London this week. I’ve enjoyed going to a service at St.Martin’s in the Fields (Trafalgar Square) celebrating Richard Carter’s retirement; visiting a church in St.Albans and updating their seniors meeting on our work, joining my local bible study group and having lunch at Forty Hall, spending a day with my friend Sue and her family celebrating Chloe’s 10th birthday. As well as spending time with my family. All blessings.
News from Uganda
Bethel has gone into boarding school with his brothers and sent greetings. I am sure he will settle well being with his siblings – we will obviously keep checking on him as he has been part of our HoP family for a number of years now.
The younger boys all returned to primary school on Monday, including the three new boys, Kenneth, Trevor and Charles. Kodet, Saidi, Musumba, Kasita and Brian all went back to boarding school and Dennis returned to Don Bosco for his course. Dan returned to George’s Place on Sunday last, his father escorted him from Kayenga. He was given the school requirements for Sheila and George to take back with him and I’ve suggested Ronald also starts school this term as he’s a bright young lad and this would be better than staying at home digging and playing.
Omoding is still on treatment until the end of next week and will then be returning to Tororo. We are still looking for work for Yusuf, who is very focused on football, and although he has done an agricultural course, he really wants to go to a football academy. Yusuf is being kept busy helping with the cooking.

I had lots of smaller school shirts and uniforms given to us that we shipped to Uganda and Tresor has been to two local nursery schools that struggle with uniforms and given them away. There are also a number of larger T-shirts that he will give to a local football team. It is good to be blessing others. Ivan took the sewing machine and materials that arrived to be teaching others in his village.
The boys did try to speak with me on Saturday afternoon whilst they were at Sky Beach, swimming and playing football, but I was at a craft day. I have managed to speak with Tresor a couple of times this week and all is well. I will contact the office on Monday and talk with Petra and Peace to check that everything is fine with them. Benard has had this week off work, on a well deserved break and Stephen has been at the home all week.
Thank you for all your love and support of our work, we really appreciate your commitment.
With love and prayers.
Jane x
