Victor and Saviour call at the office, Martyrs Day in Uganda, speaking to the boys
Garden party on 18th July in aid of HoP in Harrow
Sunday 7th June 2026
Good morning friends,
Everything is fine at Homes of Promise. Benard returned after his week off on Monday afternoon. Stephen took the young boys to church last Sunday, and the pastor asked them to go to the choir practice this afternoon, Saturday.
On Tuesday morning, Victor and Saviour called at the office to talk with Peace. They will shortly be finishing their internships at the Speke Hotel, and we are waiting to see if they will be offered work there. Later, Peace took Joshua back to Maranatha School as she wanted to speak with the head teacher, but she wasn’t around. Joshua has settled back now.
Wednesday was Martyrs’ Day and a bank holiday. The younger boys went to watch Yusuf play football, as he had been asked by a team in Entebbe to play for them. We are still looking for openings for Yusuf to have a trial with the Uganda footballers’ teams. Prayers please. 🙏
Peace went on Thursday to Little Angels as Ram, who is really bright and good at school, has been having some issues with a teacher, and we wanted to know what the problems were about! I’ve not been told yet. No news from Bethel’s boarding school, so we are presuming he is settling in well.
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26
Ian is calling in at George’s Place on Saturday to see the boys and check on how things are running whilst I’m here.
There has been good news this week that the Ugandan Government are cracking down on corruption with many arrests.
I have had messages from Anton, Augustine, Griffin and Patrick this week, and received a photo from Asaph, of him and my son at the 10th Anniversary, they all seem to be fine. I also had a long chat with Saviour on WhatsApp. Shauna the young lady from the U.S. who I’ve been taking to KIC has been in contact and she will be in London next Thursday, before visiting Scotland for a few days. I am hoping to meet up with her at least for a coffee before she goes back to Uganda.
I talked with the boys at George’s Place this morning (Saturday) and spoke with Omoding who looked and seemed much better and is planning to go home to Tororo next week. I also spoke with Godfrey, who had called into the home, Beckham, Raymond, Charles, Moses and Robert. There first week back at school was fine, the new boys have uniforms, shoes, bags, and all the requirements. Kenneth has been keen to do his homework in the evenings.
Thank you for all your love and support. Tim has tonsillitis and I’ve suggested he goes to the clinic for some medication. Prayers please has he is very unwell.
With love and prayers.
Jane x
