The Garden Party in Harrow, Peace visits Brian, Victor finds work and Griffin is promoted

Dear friends,

I’m off to the Garden Party in aid of Homes of Promise in Harrow today (Saturday). Our thanks to Soulla from The Church of the Ascension, for all her support and help over many years, also thank you to Revd. Nick Jones and his wife Janice who opened their garden and home, it was a lovely afternoon with entertainment from children who sang and danced, there was face painting, games organised by the vicar, a guitarist who sang and a soloist. Thank you to everyone involved.

Tresor told me this week that when he and Soleil visited Saidi on visiting day the teacher had informed him that Saidi was ‘gifted’ and thought he might well qualify for a bursary when he joins secondary school.

Last weekend Omoding’s older brother and a friend visited him at George’s Place. Omoding has now been signed off from the hospital and we are hoping he will be going back home to Tororo in the next few days to be looking for work.

Peace visited Young Brian (not so young now), for his school visiting day today, sadly he wasn’t feeling too well and possibly has an ear infection – he will come home on Monday.

I’ve been busy this week trying to find ways to transfer money to Uganda as our contract has been stopped with VFX, hopefully we have signed up with a new Foreign Exchange organisation. Prayers please as they need so much information.

Victor has found himself work at a restaurant, cooking, Tresor will be helping him to start up a bank account. Griffin is being promoted at the Speke hotel, he has done really well. Saviour is still looking for work and I believe Sula is working where he did his internship.

The younger boys are all fine. Hopefully they were able to go to Banana Village today for a swim but when I had a video call with them early this morning it was raining.

Benard had taken some of the younger boys to a church meeting – I managed to get the right face to the right name of the new boys and also spoke with Moses, Ryan, Kenneth, Trevor and Yusuf who are doing well.
