Visiting days for Saidi and Musumba, Sky Beach closed, our 6 month report submitted to the Probation Officer
Sunday 12th July 2026
Dear friends,
I’ve been away again this week visiting my cousin in Bergen, Norway for a few days and arrived back in the U.K. on Friday. I’ve had very little news from George’s Place but some photos.
My friend Lynn kindly took a car load of goods to Salabed this week for shipment to Uganda.
I did hear from Tresor and all is well at Homes of Promise. He and his wife Soleil visited Saidi last Sunday afternoon as it was his school visiting day. Saidi is fine and studying well for his P7 exams. Tresor also visited Musumba today, Saturday, as it was his school’s Music, Drama, Dancing + visiting day. Whilst Tresor was there he met his uncle’s daughter (cousin) who attends the school.
The new boys are all fine and had new sandals bought for them this week. There are some photos of them with Charles and Kenneth, who are two of the boys that joined us in March. They all look like they’re settling well.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
Tresor advised me that Sky Beach, where we have taken the boys swimming ever since we moved to the area has been sold and at present they are not able to go there. Hopefully it will soon be up and running as a hotel again – it did need some work doing to it so we shall have to wait and see. Banana village is nearby for a swim but far more expensive and we have only taken the boys there in the past as a treat!
Peace has also been in touch with me and has submitted our 6 months report to the Probation Officer for endorsement, which will then be taken to the Ministry of Gender for their records.
Prayers please for our older boys who have finished their internships and are looking for employment – Victor, Saviour, Yusuf and Sula. Omoding is still in the home and has a hospital appointment this coming week for his ongoing liver problems.
Ivan has contacted Tresor and asked for a table for the sewing machine we gave him recently, shipped from the U.K., he already has one machine but was wanting to teach others in his village how to sew. It is very encouraging to see our boys helping others learn a skill.
Many thanks for all your love and support. I look forward to seeing some of you before I return to Uganda in early August.
Lots of love
Jane x
