It was lovely to see so many of your last Sunday afternoon, thank you for coming to find out about what’s been happening at Homes of Promise. That afternoon, in Uganda, following church, the young boys went swimming at Banana Village. Since then Tresor has visited a pool at the Pearl Marina Estate, near where the boys go to church and asked the manager if they could possibly go there regularly for a swim – we are waiting to see if that would be acceptable and how much they would charge!
The bikes have had their punctures fixed and the new boys have been spending time improving their bike riding skills. Laushen and Andrew could already ride but Jordan and Tony were very ‘wobbly’ to begin-with but are improving rapidly with plenty of practice. I’m still not sure that I’ve got the right name for the right boy, I have worked out Laushen as he is the biggest one but think I keep mixing up the others!
Auntie Peace went to see the new boys on Wednesday and spent time with them individually, with Benard and Tresor trying to find out home tracing information – they seem to be reluctant in sharing, this is the third time she has spoken with them.

The boys had a football match this Saturday and won the game by 7-3 goals. Ram, Moses and Joseph all scored. They spent time in the morning practicing in the compound. Everything seems to be running very smoothly at George’s Place.
I’m just amazed how much the boys have grown in the last couple of months since I’ve been here. I am hoping to talk with some of them this afternoon.
Godfrey has been calling regularly at George’s Place to collect the grass strimmer and I presume is getting some paid work. I’ve also heard from Augustine, Tim, Anton, Yusuf and Griffin who are all fine. I also spoke with Petra, Peace and Tresor throughout the week.
Ram has been unwell and off school this week but I’m not sure what the diagnosis was, he’s been having treatment.
