Dear friends,

Bob arrived back in Uganda last Monday. The boys were delighted to see him, he took back T-shirts, donated, and trousers we had bought – these were given out to the boys and everyone was happy. Bob was overweight on his luggage allowance and we had to remove quite a few articles at the airport which hopefully will fit in my cases on my return later this month.

“The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14

All the boys are back from vocational training/boarding school and those in day school have also broken up for the Christmas holidays, making George’s Place a hive of activity. The boys don’t return to school until the beginning of February – long holidays! Three bunk beds have been purchased this week – we didn’t have enough beds when the new boys arrived in October and they have been using those belonging to the boys away at boarding. These new beds have been placed in the lounge of the extension as it was there or in a garage! The boys look excited by the change in space use.

On Thursday those at Maranatha Primary School collected their school reports – some have done amazingly well, (two are top of their classes – Joshua our youngest boy and Musumba), we are thankful that there are no behavioural issues with any of the boys and we are really proud of the way they are all trying their best. The five new boys will go to Maranatha next week to do tests to see which stream they will be in.

Brian and Asaph’s Vocational reports were also good when they returned from Don Bosco and Paul and Shaffick’s from Meeting Point. So a full house at George’s Place. Prayers please for larger premises with more land to either rent or buy.

We will now be looking at which of the older boys will be going for vocational training next year and finding which courses they are interested in. Bob and Peace will be involved in looking for internships for Derrick and Simon Peter.

Uncle Sam has gone off for a week’s holiday but the rest of the staff are around.

Bob took the boys swimming Friday afternoon which they enjoyed and visited KK Beach this afternoon – twenty-nine in the minibus – just as well it’s not too far!

With love and prayers,

Jane
