On Wednesday this week we had four new boys given to us by the Ministry of Gender, I am not sure that I have their names correct but believe they are Edrin, Tony, Andrew and Laushen. It must be a busy time for Benard as Tresor is off work this week, prayers please for the new boys and the staff as they settle.
We had a Management Meeting on Thursday (Norah and I joined the meeting online). Ken is away so Ian chaired the meeting. We heard from the Health Inspector who reported on ebola and mentioned the practices we needed to put in place in the home, there have been confirmed cases in the Wakiso area. He agreed to come with The Hon. Juma to George’s Place on Saturday morning to talk with the boys about keeping safe and to carry out his annual inspection. Your prayers please as the pandemic must be spreading.
On Friday afternoon, Lynn and I delivered many items to the shipping agents. We were sad to learn that Ayoub is not working for Salabed any longer (though i spoke to him on the phone and he has better employment), we had built up a good relationship with him over the years. We are now working with Yusuf. Our thanks to St.Peter’s with St.Martin’s Mothers’ Union in Edmonton for all their support, I had visited them on Monday afternoon to update members on our work and collected six bags of clothes/shoes.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” Matthew 25:35
I have had a difficult week authorising payments for the charity as the gadget I use to obtain one time passwords has stopped working (I have been using it for 10 years, I believe it’s just worn out!). After numerous phone calls, emails, messages it’s still not working and I now have to log on to the Ugandan bank website and then hope the bank will send me a password – which is not happening! 🙏 please.
I have heard from Ronald this week who is still working on a farm and looking after horses, he seems well settled now and hopefully putting to use his mechanical skills on the farm machinery. Augustine has also been in touch and Saviour.
As Tresor is off work I’ve not had many photos this week but have been in contact with Peace, Petra, Ian and Benard and all is well at George’s Place. Omoding has been back to the hospital and is still with us for another month as the test results are still showing problems with his liver.
Thank you for all your love and support, we are planning an Afternoon Tea at the Charis Centre at Jesus Church on 2nd August details to follow shortly. Look forward to catching up with some of you then.
Love and prayers.
