Home tracing with Kenneth, thank you to Thomas Munt for running a Marathon in Brighton in aid of Homes of Promise

Sunday 19th April 2026

Dear friends,

This week Peace and I have been to Masaka, home tracing for Kenneth. Jessie arrived at my apartment at 9am on Tuesday morning, we collected Kenneth from Tresor on our way to meet Peace. It has rained so much this week and at times the rain was torrential on our journey to Masaka – we didn’t even stop at the Equator as there was too much rain. Kenneth’s mother lives about 10km from the town in a very rural setting. The reunion was emotional as she had assumed her son had died as he had been missing for about 10 months. We spent some time with the mother – who has a husband (not Kenneth’s father) and two small children.

After visiting we went with the mother to the LC1 and his deputy who knew Kenneth was missing. We explained who we were, showed them a copy of our police report and had the appropriate papers signed and stamped by the LC. The half brother was so pleased to see Kenneth when he returned from school we allowed Kenneth to spend the night at the home before collecting him the next day. This is the first time we have allowed a boy to stay when we are home tracing – he told us in the morning that so many neighbours had visited the previous evening to welcome him back!

Jessie knew about accommodation at a nearby university and although this was basic it was welcoming, clean and quiet – no students there! It virtually rained all night and nearly all the way back to Kampala.

……………my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”

I was in the office on Thursday and things are coming together for the Anniversary Celebrations.

This week I heard from a member of Jesus Church that his son had run a Marathon at Brighton Uni. in aid of Homes of Promise – our thanks to Thomas and all those who supported him and his brother William who coordinated the fund raising. We are extremely grateful to them for raising an outstanding amount towards our work which will go towards next terms school fees.

This weekend Andrea has come to stay with me from Luwero and today Sunday, we will be saying goodbye to Malaika from Belgium who is returning home after 10 years of running tailoring classes for women from the slum areas. On Friday afternoon Andrea and I attended a fashion show she had organised.

Tresor and Benard took the boys swimming on Saturday. I’ve had phone calls from Big Denis in Gulu, Augustine and Ivan this week. Victor who had a day off and Shaffick also visited George’s Place for a night.

Thank you for all your love and support.
