Office staff Christmas celebration, budget meeting, Dan visits his home, Christine leaves
Sunday 21st December 2025
Dear friends,
There seems to have been a lot going on this week. Saviour and Sula came to the office with Tresor Monday morning – Saviour was on his way to a Youth Crusade (two days) at the church where he usually attends near his college. Sula went to collect his papers as he is applying for an internship at a hairdressers that he has been recommended to – not sure if he has been accepted yet! It was Benard’s birthday that day and of course cake was sent to them at George’s Place.
My friend Christine has returned to the USA and although she is planning to visit Uganda occasionally has moved out of her apartment – I will certainly miss her.
Elisha again visited the boys and from the video they look like they thoroughly enjoy the dancing and worship times.
We have also had a budget meeting with Ian (Ken and Peace joined online), to agree next year’s figures, we discussed the boys football academy fees and have decided to stop this for a while, allowing them to play football at local venues. We will shortly be looking at our 10 year anniversary party plan to be held on 9th May 2026.
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth”
John 1:14
Griffin called to see me a couple of early mornings this week and I gave him a spare bed that I had and some linen to help as he settles in his room. He is doing well, we hope Victor will be able to do his internship at The Speke Hotel as well but no news yet, he’s been busy helping Halima.
Sadly my television had stopped working and I looked like having to invest in a new one! I’ve had it since I arrived in Uganda and it’s been moved around several times – just amazed it’s lasted so well as things don’t always here. 😊It suddenly started working Friday morning but can only be turned off via the wall socket.
Dan has returned to his family for Christmas, his dad came to collect him on Tuesday.
Augustine phoned me Saturday and has gone to Kayunga to fix two inside doors to the bedrooms in their new house.
On Thursday I met up with Petra, Precious and Peace to treat them to lunch as our Christmas office celebration, we met at Las Vegas a hotel near my apartment – their choice. Of course they were an hour late arriving, giving me a chance to write this.
I was going to see the boys this Saturday but sadly I’ve had to postpone as I needed my internet connection changed – Christine and I had been sharing a connection but since she has left I needed to get it fitted in my apartment, which took all day and four men coming at different times! They were still fixing it at 6pm, climbing through windows (I’m two floors up, no health and safety here!). All connected now! The boys went swimming as it was a nice afternoon. All is well in Homes of Promise as we prepare for the Christmas Day and Boxing Day celebrations.
Thank you for all your good wishes, love and support.
Love and prayers,
Jane x
