Saying goodbye to the boys, back in the U.K., school reports, school holidays continue
Sunday 7th September 2025
Dear friends,
I arrived back in the UK Thursday morning – it was an ‘interesting’ flight as the plane, with passengers on board, sat on the runway at Entebbe for three and a half hours on Wednesday afternoon due to a technical issue. I was concerned that I might miss my connection but thankfully made it! Of course it was raining hard on my arrival at Heathrow. I had met up with Christine on Wednesday morning for our weekly prayer time and before leaving Uganda visited the boys and spent an hour talking with some of them, others were busy playing in the compound. Victor escorted me to the airport (he had not been there before), Jessie driving.
We have at last received Kasita’s school report – he did really well with 6 ‘A’s and 3 ‘B’s, he is a bright young man, we also received Musumba’s report and he also is doing well though I don’t seem to be able to find a photo of it! Augustine was at the party last Saturday and gave me his certificate from the DIT (Directorate Industrial Training exam) Building, he achieved an ‘A’. It is really encouraging to see our boys doing well and working hard.
“The Lord replied, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14
The boys all attended the football academy this week and Omoding has stayed all week so that he could be in the older boys team. Yusuf has made himself busy shaving heads!
Monday and Tuesday I was in the office catching up with Petra and handing things over – it’s good to have her back.
- Some of the boys have gone back to the village to visit their families for the holidays.
- Sula, ‘young’ Brian (not so young now), Dan and Musumba have all travelled.
- Peace had a family funeral in Mbale so left Monday afternoon.
- Saviour is back at Mackindye Country Club on a two week internship.
- Young Denis is continuing his sewing lessons.
I’m looking forward to meeting up with some of you over the next few weeks.
Thank you for all your love and support.
Lots of love and prayers.
Jane
