Some boys return to the village, Elisha visits, Management Meeting
Sunday 14th December 2025
Good morning friends,
A quick summary of our week.
- This week some of the boys have returned to their relatives.
- On Monday Ram’s mother came to collect him.
- Tuesday Beckham’s dad came for him.
- Brian, Kasita and Saidi also returned to their relatives for the holidays.
- On Monday Peace had taken Saidi to Cleveland Primary school for an interview and test for him to go into boarding for P7 next year, he was accepted.
- Sula has finished his exams and returned to us.
- Saviour went on Friday for an interview for an internship but unfortunately he does not have National ID. Sometimes it takes months to process their ID.
- Victor has applied to The Speke Hotel where Griffin works and has to go back next week when he has all the documents he needs.
- Elisha one of our worship leaders from church went to George’s Place on Friday and the boys enjoyed music and dancing.
- Saturday I visited the boys and some of the younger ones made chocolate brownies (from a packet!) with Victor’s help.
“Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skilfully, and shout for joy.”
Psalms 33:2-3
On Thursday we had a really helpful Management Meeting – the new Health Inspector contributed with many ideas and has asked for a list of the schools where the boys attend. Stephen took the boys swimming and to play football at Sky Beach Hotel that day. The boys have been busy doing general cleaning and helping with the cooking and all has gone well. Halima’s sister came and cooked for the Management meeting and the boys on Thursday and I drove her home.
We’ve been busy working on the budget for next year which hopefully will be approved before the year end. We were over budget this year on a couple of things – the camp for the older boys had not been included or the new home for Dan’s family but both in my opinion were worth doing.
It’s still very warm here. This Sunday there is a candlelight Carol Service by the pool at MCC which I’m planning to attend – otherwise very little evidence of Christmas!
Christine is leaving Uganda Monday evening after 8 years, she says she will come and visit. I will certainly miss her.
Thank you for all your love and support. As we enter the third week of Advent may the good news of Jesus’ birth bring us great joy this Christmas season.
Blessings.
Jane x
