Staff meeting, Tim has TB 🙏 please, Joshua and Brian break up from school.
Sunday 23rd November 2025
Dear friends,
When I arrived at the office on Monday morning Petra, Peace, Precious, Tresor, Benard and Tim were there, we only have a small office with three desks, filing cabinets etc. so it seemed very squeezed! Benard was on his way to take Tim to Kisenyi Hospital where sadly he was diagnosed with TB, he had to return again on Tuesday for more tests. We are trying to keep him isolated but this isn’t always easy. I saw him Friday and he is wanting to go and spend time with his aunt in the village so we are planning for him to go on Monday.
Augustine called into the office on Tuesday and he will be working on finishing off Dan’s family home in the next few weeks – it needs some more work on the walls, inside doors and another screed on the floor – it shouldn’t take Augustine long. He calls me most days to check on me and also visited the hospital to see Tim.
We had a staff meeting on Wednesday, we began with prayers in the Chapel and then I was updated on the boys and what had been happening whilst I had been away.
I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1
The staff want to start up a saving scheme whereby they have money saved from their wages each month – I think this is a great idea and Petra will be arranging this. There had been a few problems with the boys but nothing major.
On Thursday I met Ian for breakfast to catch up and then went with Christine to the Immigration office, she is leaving Uganda before Christmas and her Work Permit runs out before she leaves. We spoke to the ‘Chief’ who had helped me and Christine has to apply for a Special Permit – all very expensive! I shall miss her terribly.
Friday I collected Joshua and his friend from school, we took the friend to Kajjansi where be boarded a taxi. Griffin met us as well and he came to Garuga. He is doing well and things are going well at the hotel. Tresor collected Brian who also broke up from school that day. I’ve had a message and photos from Ronald he is working in a shop and although not in a garage is managing to look after himself.
I didn’t visit Garuga this Saturday as the boys were all at football, but I did go shopping to buy the requirements Saviour and Victor need for their catering examination next Friday.
Andrea the German lady will be at church Sunday and I’m looking forward to seeing her again and her work colleagues.
Thank you for all your love and support.
Blessings and prayers.
Love Jane x
