Dear friends,

I do hope you are all fine during these difficult times. I am still in South Africa as Uganda has closed its borders and I have no way of getting back into the country.

So far there have been no reported cases of coronavirus in Uganda which is a real blessing as the infrastructure would be unable to cope.

‘Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1 v9

The boys are all fine. The schools and vocational institutes closed at the end of last week, also churches and gatherings for funerals/weddings etc. have been stopped. Five of our boys travelled back to their home villages last Sunday after Shadrach and staff held a ‘church’ service with the boys at home. There have been a few hiccoughs with Shaffick having to visit the dentist for a tooth extraction and food prices escalating but I am in daily contact with Georges Place and everything seems to be running smoothly. Please be praying for the money situation as I only left money up until next Monday and cheques will need to be cashed which have not been signed by me and this might cause confusion at the bank.

I am trying to book a flight back to the U.K. and am waiting to hear if there are any available – we are waiting for the Prime Minister here to talk later today and hopefully, the borders here will not be closed. On a brighter note I have had a really good relaxing holiday – which I needed. I stayed in Cape Town for a few days and then travelled to Johannesburg and the Drakensberg area which is beautiful – did lots of walks. I am at present in an area called The Midlands and enjoying swimming and reading. Sue and Hilary have been delightful company.

As many of you will be in isolation my thoughts and prayers are with you. This is a difficult time but we know we have a God who cares for each one of us holds us in the palm of his hand.

God bless.
Love.

Jane
