3rd July, 2022

Dear friends,

We had a Trustees meeting on Monday, which went very well, our 2021 accounts were agreed and will shortly be on the Charity Commissioners website. Many thanks to Geoff our Treasurer and Paul our Independent Examiner. I’ve sent all the secondhand trainers I have received off to Uganda this week and had some up to date bookmarks printed which hopefully I will get out to most of you.

Tresor has been unwell this week but he did manage to visit Dan’s family and has put in a requisition for iron sheets, door and window for their new home, which hopefully he will be able to sort out next week. The family have also asked for help with iron sheets and door for a pit latrine – which we will help them with. Tresor bought them some food supplies as things are very difficult in Uganda at present, the father has some land where he grows vegetables and he is always working hard to feed his family. The last time I met him he said he knew he was poor but that he loved his children and it’s very obvious that they love him too.

‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’ ‭‭John‬ ‭7:37-38‬ ‭

Tresor has had this weekend off work so I haven’t many photographs of our younger boys but I’ve spoken to Ian and they are all fine, Benard is back from his few days leave. There has been a shortage of water at George’s Place so we have invested in some more Jerry cans – getting these filled for cleaning and washing – we have contacted the Water Authorities and hopefully this will be sorted out soon. We do use lots of water though and have an enormous water tank to collect rain water, which has run out!

Peace visited the older boys at college in Lugazi and then travelled on to Bugiri to visit Shaffick and Emma in Mbale – sadly I haven’t heard from her since she met the boys at college – they are all looking well and Ronald has sent me a few messages. Asaph who is on the carpentry course at Don Bosco telephoned me and says everything is fine with him, he will be finishing his course shortly.

Thank you for all your love and support – I am planning to return to Uganda before the end of the month.

With every blessing.

Jane
