Two new boys – Moses and Robert, Tresor and Augustine visit Dan’s home, preparing for the Management Meeting
Sunday 22nd June 2025
Good morning friends,
On Monday Peace met up with Omoding in Mbale (he travelled from Tororo) so that she could give him his college requirements and a new mattress which he was delighted with. Precious, Tresor and I were at the office working out what was required for the week ahead.
Early Tuesday morning I met up with Ian to talk about the forthcoming Management Meeting and this year’s camp at the Sailing Club. Later, Peace and I were busy putting together all the paperwork for the meeting.
On Wednesday we met in the office with Augustine whom we had asked to come for a couple of days, he had been building a septic tank in a village near Kasese last week, (near the DRC border) and came back on the overnight bus Monday.
I then drove us, (Augustine and Peace) to Kisenyi and whilst they rescued a couple of boys from the streets – Moses and Robert, I looked after the car! A number of boys wanted to come with us – sadly funding is not available at present – we need to look at school fees, family tracing etc. We then took the boys to Old Kampala Police post who registered them into our care – this took about three hours. Following this we drove to George’s Place where the boys bathed, were give new clothes and lunch – they were keen to lay on their beds with new mattresses and sheets. They have now attended the local clinic for medical checks. Sadly Robert had gingivitis and was finding it difficult to eat but now he is on antibiotics and doing well.
“…………….but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.” 2 Samuel 22:19-20
Tresor and Augustine travelled to Kayunga on Thursday for Augustine to give us advice on how we can help improve Dan’s family home as it is so damp and the children are regularly sick, we’ll be looking at this in the next few weeks.
News:
- Young Denis is enjoying his sewing machine lessons.
- Saturday the boys went to football and I called to see them later in the afternoon.
- Patrick is with us getting his new teeth!
- Tresor (and Soleil) visited Kasita at school on Saturday, for an Academic progress report – he is doing really well.
- Kodet has an assignment from school to make an aquarium out of a large water bottle with lights and fish included! No success catching any from the lake yet!
- This week I had a message from Griffin, telling me he is working hard.
Thank you for all your interest, kindness and support of our work. Please do be praying for Moses and Robert that they settle in well with the other boys and are truthful with the information they give us regarding their families.
With love and prayers.
