Moses and Robert settle, Victor has been sick, Management Meeting went well, meeting Soleil
Sunday 29th June 2025
Dear friends,
Moses and Robert are settling in well. They enjoyed football last weekend and went swimming one afternoon this week – they can both actually swim. They have received their metal boxes to keep their possessions in.
Victor arrived home from college on Monday as he was unwell and after receiving treatment at the clinic for malaria went back to Connect Africa Thursday morning – he is fine now.
We had our management meeting on Thursday at George’s Place, which went well.
There is a new Health Inspector at Katabi Town Council and the Hon. Juma suggested Peace and I went to meet him one day next week, which he will arrange.
Patrick is still staying at George’s Place whilst having treatment for his new teeth, he has been at the dental hospital three times this week and looks like being there again three times this coming week. He has been so long without his front teeth I think he might find it difficult getting used to the new ones! He is a really nice young man and very appreciative, he has been spending time with the new boys.
“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?”
Psalms 8:3/4
Tresor sent a photo from the market on Friday morning when he was buying the perishables, there is always an abundance of fruit/vegetables when in season. Outside our office compound the security man has been growing maize in the last few weeks and we bought a sack to take to GP on Thursday for only 20,000UGX (about £4). Halima cooked some and it was delicious. Zimba (the young dog) has been in trouble this week as he entered the food store and stole a loaf of bread!
Last Sunday following church Tresor, Soleil, her niece and I had lunch at the Country Club. Soleil had travelled from Rwanda earlier in the week. It was lovely to meet her but not easy with the language – she speaks French, Swahili, Kinyamulenge (from Congo) but very little English and no Luganda so hopefully she will learn quickly when she is living here.
Tim called me one day this week as he has moved to a new place. Lots of our older boys who have left our care keep in regular contact, it’s good to know how they are.
Augustine is going to help build a small house for Dan’s family, he has sent a quotation and will be reusing the iron sheets for the roof. I’m very proud of many of our boys who are working hard and progressing well. Thank you for your continued support and love. Young Denis is continuing with his sewing machine lessons.
Today, Saturday we are taking the boys swimming, weather permitting – there has been lots of rain again this week! We had a good afternoon, Benard is off this weekend but Steven is at the home.
Continued prayers please for all our boys.
