Yusuf begins an internship, Saviour preparing to go to The Speke Resort, Denis preparing to go to Don Bosco
Sunday 22nd February 2026
Good morning friends,
Yusuf started at KCCA on Wednesday – there were a few setbacks but he has been allocated a room near their farm and the university where he can stay, he has settled well. They are providing lunch and supper each day so we are making sure he has money for breakfast and drinks. (Dan has moved himself into Yusuf’s small room and set up the sewing machine table as a desk!)
Griffin also called me as he was still unwell and I met him and Victor at a clinic nearby where they stay on my way home from work on Wednesday afternoon for him to get treatment- he has a bacterial infection and is feeling better now.
Last Monday I went to George’s Place as it was a public holiday. Benard is having a week off as he hasn’t had a day off since the boys broke up from school in December. Stephen and Tresor were there. We managed to open the two boxes that had arrived from the U.K. and the boys all received one of the knitted hats that were there – they all love these hats, thank you to the ladies at Christ Church St Albans.
Kodet received his exam results and we will start looking for a technical college for him to go to, he is back in the village.
“I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.”
Ezekiel 11:19
Tresor has been busy this week taking Saviour for a medical and getting the paperwork in place and submitting it to The Speke Resort Hotel in the hope that he also might join Victor on an internship there. He is still at MCC and doing well but this is such a good opportunity to be receiving more experience. Since writing this I have been informed by Tresor that The Speke Hotel would like Saviour to start at the beginning of March – hopefully he will be in the ‘Service’ team which is what he wants. I have spoken to the duty manager at MCC and thanked him for all the support they have given Saviour. He told me Saviour is a really good, hard worker and has fitted in with the team there. He has been on housekeeping for the hotel, in the kitchens and also serving food and drinks.
Tresor has also been buying all the requirements for Denis who will be going to Don Bosco next week starting a two year building construction course – he is still young to be doing this but as he is not succeeding in primary school and we feel he would benefit in being in vocational college – prayers please for him, he had been very neglected by his family before he went to the streets.
I went to Garuga on Saturday afternoon – an arrangement had been made for Moses to speak to his mother with the help of ‘Jenga’ a charity in Mbale who support other members of his family (the mother is very sick) unfortunately they did not pick up our call – I filmed a message from Moses to send to his mother. It rained most of the afternoon and the power was also off but we managed to have a late celebration for Stephen’s birthday which had been on the 14th with enormous pieces of cake!
Tim had phoned me – he is still unwell and now has a throat infection – he also arrived at George’s Place on Saturday afternoon and on my way home he and I called at the pharmacy to get some cough linctus syrup and paracetamol which hopefully will help.
Thank you for all your prayers, love and support, we really couldn’t be doing this work without your kindness and help.
Love and blessings.
