A quiet week, Box arrives from the U.K. with clothes and spectacles, Esther graduates, calls from Dennis and Anton

Sunday 25th October 2026

Good morning friends,

I’ve had a much quieter week and had some time for relaxing and reading. All is well here in Kampala – we’ve had lots of rain, sometimes torrential with plenty of thunderstorms but of course followed by warm, pleasant sunshine.

Monday was a normal work day sorting out the finances for the week and accounting for the previous week’s expenditure. On Tuesday I attended our Ladies Fellowship at Annabelle’s before going in to work, it was Debbie’s birthday so of course cake!

On Wednesday Peace, Petra and I travelled to George’s Place in Garuga to meet with Benard and Tresor. We had a meeting about the boys and then unpacked the large box that had arrived from the U.K. and inventoried the items before putting them in the store.

‘It is worth any sacrifice however great or costly
To see eyes that were listless light up again
To see someone smile who seemed to have forgotten how to smile
To see trust reborn in someone who no longer believed in anyone or anything.’

This week I had a video call from grownup Dennis in Gulu showing me his 3 month old daughter, he is fine and working in a service station. I also heard from Anton who would like a video call to introduce me to his ‘wife’. These boys are certainly growing up! I also heard from Gorette’s daughter Esther whom we helped through school and college, she has recently graduated and is working as a nursery school teacher.

This weekend the young boys are going swimming but Tresor, Soleil and I will be attending the church retreat at the sailing club from 8 am-4pm on Saturday. Griffin and Victor were involved in the catering for 130 people, Victor making salads and sauce and Griffin barbecuing chicken – it was a really good lunch!

Tresor is visiting Joshua tomorrow as it is his school Visiting Day!

Thank you for your interest in our work and your support, kindness, love and compassion, we really appreciate you all.

Lots of love and prayers.
