Back to school, Yusuf starts at KCCA, Saidi in boarding school, visiting Don Bosco
Sunday 15th February 2026
Good morning friends,
The boys are all back at school apart from Denis.
On Thursday we took Denis to Don Bosco for him to be registered on their building course. Yusuf came with us, as he finished there in December, their term starts on 23rd February. The college was quiet with very few people around but he was shown the dormitories and building section. We went out for local food on the way back about £12.50 with drinks for 5 of us. The portions were large and the boys enjoyed the treat – so did Jessie! We are hoping Denis might be able to visit his grandfather near Tororo next week as it’s been a while since he saw him – we have been unable to contact him though so 🙏 please.
Yusuf started at Kampala Capital City at City Hall on an internship today, Friday until April. He will be working on the city’s gardens and their farm, we are hoping he might be able to get a room at the university campus as most places nearby are expensive to rent.
“And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Saidi was late returning but went off to boarding school on Saturday to join P7, he returned with a form saying his mother has applied for a birth certificate, which is required, I saw him briefly when we came back with Denis and Yusuf to George’s Place. Dan, Ram and Beckham all came back last weekend and Beckham’s dad stayed the night at Trésor’s apartment as it was too late for him to return. Dan seems to have grown!
Griffin has been sick this week, with flu, probably caught from Victor who was ill last weekend- they are sharing a room! He sent me a couple of photos of himself at work.
On Monday Ian and I did the staff appraisals, first in the conference hall at JPII offices and then in Garuga. We meet with Tresor Friday as he was busy all day Monday with sorting out monies! These went well.
Kodet has returned to the village as he awaits his exam results, hopefully he will be able to join a technical college near his home in Mbale. Peace and I are planning to link up with him the week after next to sort things out.
I had thought the rains had started but this week has been dry and I went on the church 8k hike yesterday near Entebbe. Andrea the German lady is coming to stay for the weekend and Christine collected her and took her to see her work at Einstein Rising for the day, we enjoyed a takeaway curry last night!
It’s been busy with lots of things happening this week and many blessings. Thank you for all your loving support.
Love Jane x
