Dear friends,

I was really pleased to see so many of you at the Afternoon Tea last Saturday. Thank you to those who baked and brought cakes with them, it was such a feast and a delightful way to begin the New Year. This was supposed to be a ‘thank you’ to all of you for supporting our work in Uganda, but amazingly we received many blessings, promises of monthly gifts, more than a dozen badminton rackets, T-Shirts, knitted gifts for babies, pens and pencils and so much more – this was a real encouragement us – Thank you!

Some of you have offered to be a prayer partner for one of the boys and we have sent you a photo and their testimony. Please do contact: info@hopuganda.org if this is something you would like to be involved in.

I am preparing to return to Uganda next Wednesday (17th), arriving Thursday afternoon; whilst I’ve been here I’ve received regular updates on the boys and life at George’s Place. Everyone is well……..Patrick and Emma have returned to Meeting Point on their residential welding course and Derrick has joined them. Anton is now on a 6 month farming course with Agromax in Gayaza. Augustine has returned to his village and is looking for building work. Samuel continues in his hairdressing apprenticeship and the four latest boys have had interviews and tests to determine which classes they shall be in at Maranatha, when they start school at the beginning of next month. Today I was informed that Denis has passed his examinations so we shall now be looking for a senior boarding school for him to attend. All the boys who spent time with their families have now returned to George’s Place and on speaking with them today seem to be in high spirits! I’m looking forward to seeing them all.

As we begin this year we thank you for all your love and support over the last 12 months. This is the Lord’s work and He is blessing us in so many special ways, we seek His will for the way forward. Prayer is paramount to our work – thank you for your prayers.
