Joseph and Bethel graduate into primary school, Christmas party, fire safety precautions.
Sunday 8th December 2024
Dear friends,
Last Sunday after church I went to Little Angels with Sam, who worked part time for us over the last few years and left in July as he has a full time work in Mukono, he was visiting KIC and the boys were pleased to see him. I tried to sneak in at the back but the Head Teacher insisted I sit at the front – each of the classes either danced, sang or acted and of course there were speeches. Joseph(Ryan) and Bethel were graduating into primary school and all our younger boys and staff enjoyed themselves. They were still there when I left at 5pm., having arrived at 8 am.
Monday evening after work Christine and I attended a home-school production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at the African Bible University of Uganda – one of the lads from church, Luke, was in it and did really well.
Wednesday Peace and I met at George’s Place, I took Santa with me as she was doing more spring cleaning. We had arranged for someone to give the boys and staff a fire safety lesson and for the boys to learn how to use the extinguishers. The younger ones lost interest until it came to put out the fires! It was well worth doing and very informative. Petra has been off a couple of days this week as she had a family funeral so she missed the training.
‘Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.’ 2 Thessalonians 3v16
The mushrooms are growing quickly and we are drying some of them.
We now have our talking walls in place and hopefully everything is ready for the Management Meeting next Thursday. The Probation Officer says she is bringing us a 13 year old boy shortly.
On Tuesday I went to the NGO Board and sadly they have lost my file that I had submitted in September and asked me to send it in again! You can imagine I was not happy! I’ve had to photocopy everything and go to the bank and pay to have our certificates authenticated again. I am reluctant to have the other forms notarised again as it all takes time and money. I have contacted Norah, our lawyer, who will hand the file in.
Tresor collected the boys from Connect Africa (Sula, Saviour and Victor) on Friday and Shaffick, Ivan, Derek, Robert, and Omoding also arrived. Kasita and Kodet are also back, I’m not sure when they arrived! Ronald, Augustine, Tim and Godfrey arrived Saturday morning, ready for the party – a full house, with lots of excitement. Hon. Juma attended and teachers from Little Angels, representatives from Worship Harvest, and Garuga Medical Centre. We had plenty of dancing, entertainment, good food, (that Halima and her sisters cooked) ice cream, cake, sodas and the sun shone! A real blessing.
Prayers please with so many boys staying over this weekend.
Thank you for all your love and support.
Love Jane x
