Mushrooms doing well, Kodet back at school, box sent off via Shipping Agent
Sunday 27th October 2024
Dear friends,
I’ve had little news this week from Uganda. Ian is leaving shortly to go to Kenya for a couple of weeks and Ken is back there from the U.K. I did see a message from Ian to say the mushrooms were delicious and suggesting Tresor started looking for marketing opportunities, we haven’t bought anymore gardens yet as the ones we have seem to be prolific and we need a market for the produce.
I’ve been in Worcester for 24 hours to visit friends and meet Jade’s mum which was really lovely as we hadn’t really met before.
Benard is going to Little Angels after church today to see how the boys did in their mid term exams. Denis is not yet back at school as Peace needs to go to the school with him next week. Kodet went back to Senior school on Friday, he has been reading and studying all week. No photos of Zimba so perhaps he’s in trouble again!
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures for ever.” Psalms 107:1
The boys all went to football Saturday morning and spent some of the time cleaning up the pitch and training before playing. I have received photos from Tresor which include the boys washing their clothes and enjoying afternoon tea. I noticed Beckham had a bandage on his arm and asked what has been wrong with him, Tresor advised there was nothing wrong he just liked having it there! Joseph had also been complaining of toothache but recovered when given a paracetamol and managed to play football – sometimes they just need attention!
Thursday morning I went to the shipping agents and sent off a large box of items I had collected or you had sent, mostly T-shirts, trousers, knitted hats and trainers. Ayoub who usually helps me was off work that day but someone else met me at the car park and helped get everything packed up at the shop. I will go back again on Monday with any items I receive at the ‘Afternoon Tea’.
It’s not long until I return to Uganda now, it’s been very special meeting many of you at churches and meetings. I do appreciate all your help, support and love for the boys.
Their lives are being changed and transformed through your commitment to Homes of Promise. Thank you.
Love Jane x
