Preparing to return to Uganda, school/college visiting days, shipments
Sunday 3rd November 2024
Dear friends,
It was really good seeing many of you last Sunday afternoon and thank you for all your support, kindness and also the car full of items that I took to the shipping agents on Monday morning, three large boxes! Thank you also to Nick and family from Jesus Church who donated four great bikes which were also shipped. I know the boys will be delighted with everything, it takes three months before they arrive!
The news from Uganda this week: there have been school/college visiting days for half way through the term. Petra went to see Kasita at school near Mukono yesterday and sent me a photo and a copy of his mid term report, he continues to do well. Joshua was collected on Friday from Maranatha School and taken to the school where he will be taking his P7 exams this coming week, (prayers please for him), he will be staying with Peace and her family for a few days as they live near to the school.
‘And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ Philippians 4 v7
Tresor and Benard visited Griffin, Joseph and Joseph (Yusuf) at Don Bosco on Wednesday and the boys were fine, but sadly Joseph (Yusuf) has fallen sick with malaria since then. This is Griffin and Joseph’s last term before they start working!
Tresor also visited Musumba at Trinity School yesterday, he looks well and hasn’t fallen ill so many times this term. The young boys are all well, though young Denis isn’t back at school yet but has been helping in the home. They will be off school 4 days this week as the exams are taking place for P7 candidates. It’s Dennis and Brian’s visiting day next Saturday which Peace has agreed to attend.
I arrive back in Uganda on Thursday afternoon so will be pleased to see the young boys, staff at the home and of course Peanut and Zimba, on my way back from the airport. It will be wonderful seeing them again – I’m sure they will have all grown!
I’ve enjoyed being here for a few weeks and catching up with many of you. Hopefully, I have at last resolved the problems with Barclays Bank regarding sending money via online banking to our new ‘£’ account in Uganda! Thank you for all your compassion for the boys and your thoughtfulness towards our work. The boys lives are being changed through God’s providence and your generosity and prayers.
With love and blessings.
