Most of the boys back at school, Joshua goes tomorrow (Monday), visiting Mukono and Kayenga, prayers please for Charles
Sunday 9th February 2025
Dear friends,
Most of the boys went back to school or vocational college last Monday and all the fees have been paid. Esther (Gorette’s daughter) called in the office she will be finishing her nursery teacher training at the end of this year and is appreciative of our support. Saidi retuned Sunday, he had been staying with his mum and also visited his grandmother. He seems to have grown over the Christmas holidays, he was at school on Saturday morning and arrived home about 2pm.
Charles is very weak and on high protein drinks, he is having difficulty keeping food down. Prayers please for Petra, Charles and family.
I’ve had a busy few days that have been productive. On Tuesday Peace, Ram and I travelled (Jessie driving), to meet Ram’s father in Mukono and visit his home. It was a good and helpful meeting. Ram was happy to see him, the stepmother’s older daughter and an uncle and his daughter. The father had been reluctant to meet us before. On our way back we called at Connect Africa on check on our boys there, Victor, Saviour and Sula, who are all fine, though Victor had been having nose bleeds. We also went to Faith High School to see Kodet, there were some discrepancies in the fees that we paid that needed to be accounted for.
“The Lord watches over you – the Lord is your shade at your right hand;” Psalms 121:5
On Thursday we took Raymond to Kayenga, to see if there had been any news regarding his mother. Unfortunately, she has not been seen since we took him there a couple of year’s ago. We’re not even convinced now that the lady saying she is a sister to the mother is actually a real relative. He would really like to find his mother. Prayers please. We then went to meet Dan’s father who took us to the Government school where George and Shila now are. It looks a better school and we paid for uniforms and meals for them for the term. They look much healthier and seemed happy to be at the school but it’s a long walk from their home to school and back.
This week I’ve also been to Maranatha to deliver papers as Joshua begins in Senior 1 on Monday. I will be calling there early in the morning to pay for the uniform etc. and Benard will bring him about lunch time.
Tresor has gone to Rwanda for a week to check on his sister-in-law and stepmother. He arrived safely having travelled on the overnight bus.
I visited George’s Place on Saturday afternoon and Benard and I took the young ones swimming. They enjoyed diving for coins. Dan took ages to get into the water but eventually did. They also enjoyed the swings at Sky Beach. It’s been very warm this week.
Thank you for all your love, prayers and support for our boys. They are getting so grown up – even young Joseph (Ryan) seems to be getting taller.
With love and prayers.
