12th June, 2022

Dear friends,

I’m on the train from Carlisle to Euston, after a wonderful week’s holiday in the Lake District. Plenty of walks in the beautiful countryside, strong winds and no rain! I’ve really enjoyed my time away though had very little contact with Uganda as the WiFi connections were not good, hopefully Tresor will have sent me some photographs and more information when I get home.

Ian called into George’s Place to see and spend time with the boys last Sunday. He has also called into the office and seen Peace and Petra. Petra is away this coming week taking accountancy exams.

‘Now when Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him, and He began to teach them, saying: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’ Matthew 5.1-4

The boys had another day off school this week, celebrating National Heroes’ Day, and spent time doing general cleaning, which involves the boys doing a really good clean of the house and grounds. They then spent the afternoon playing football. They played against Little Angels boarding school – only 7 of our boys played so Tresor joined the team and of course they won 3-2 (they’re being called the ‘8 team’ at school!

Godfrey has been working, cleaning, at a nearby hotel and is very happy to have been paid. Sadly I was notified that his grandmother has passed away this week so I expect he will be travelling back to the village.

Ivan returned from college as he is unwell and was diagnosed with a bacterial infection, hopefully he will be returning back to college next Monday as he looks much better after treatment. Ronald has also been in contact and sent me some photos, we have looked after Ronald for years now, he is doing really well on his mechanics course and is hoping to return to the village and find work when he finishes at college. It’s such a privilege to see these boys growing into fine young men with a future. Thank you for all your commitment and interest in our work.

I am sorry for the lack of information this week, which shall probably arrive later on Sunday!

Thank you for your love and support.

With love and prayers.

Jane
