Preparing for school, Big Dennis, Brian, Joshua and Griffin all back
Sunday 15th September 2024
Dear friends,
This week we have been preparing for the boys returning to school/college either this weekend or Monday. The school requirements are so many, Tresor has been busy buying everything. We are thankful that we have already been able to pay all the school/college fees for this coming term. Last term Kasita was elected a prefect and we have had to pay for him to have a school suit – he says he’ll send a photo, of him looking smart when he gets it! Kodet and Joseph (plumber) both needed new shoes/work boots, all the older boys have had new sandals, vest, pants and shorts.
Brian returned from his grandparents on Tuesday and I collected Griffin who has been working at Skyz Hotel and staying with Joyce and John, I took him back to George’s Place. We called into Joyce’s cafe for Griffin to say goodbye. This Saturday Ian has offered Griffin work at the Church Barbecue to help with cooking for over 200 people. Dennis has also returned and Joshua came back last weekend as he has been at school most of the holidays preparing for his P7 exams.
“Jesus said………I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
John 10:10
I have been busy with paperwork this week but did meet Ken for coffee on Wednesday, he is returning to London next weekend.
Johnson and Joseph (Yusuf), came to spend the day with me again on Thursday and worked on their ‘Life Story’ books which are coming along well.
At George’s Place we had an old tyre and took it to a workshop to be cut around and made into a plant container for strawberries – Joseph has been working on this, cleaning, painting and standing it on bricks. He is on the agricultural course at Don Bosco.
The young boys have been catching up with their homework and the older boys have been helping them. They are looking forward to going back to school. Young Denis has been mending the chair/settee cushions which often need a stitch! He is really good at this.
Jade is coming back from Rwanda today, (Saturday) it’s her birthday, though she doesn’t know that we know. The boys have made cards, found some balloons from the store and we are going to George’s Place this afternoon for a surprise celebration with cake and sodas and then later taking them swimming.
The holidays have been busy but it’s been encouraging to see young Joseph (Ryan) settling in, he seems much happier, loves art, craft, cake making etc. Quite confusing with Raymond, Ram and Ryan – plus Bethel, Beckham, Dan, Denis and Saidi – the young ones!
Next week we are hoping to start working on the mushroom project and will be buying 100 mushroom gardens plus putting a door on the mushroom house. Thank you for all your prayers, kindness and support, we really feel blessed by the Lord, and couldn’t do this work without your help.
Every blessing.
Jane xx
