Dear friends,
I’ve very little news this week as I’m still on holiday in South Africa but Tresor has sent me some photos and tells me all is well in Uganda.
It was visiting day at Trinity last Sunday and Tresor went to see Johnson (Musumba) to see how he is getting on at secondary school. Johnson is such a nice young lad, and he has settled well. He had a follow up hospital appointment on Tuesday as he recently had an operation for a detached retina, unfortunately he needs further treatment to remove a membrane that is clouding his sight, prayers please as he goes back to the hospital next Wednesday.
‘He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.’

The boys at George’s Place are all fine. They went to the football academy again on Saturday morning and enjoyed themselves. Tresor also sent some photos of the boys at the swimming pool last weekend having a good time and them washing their clothes in the rain!
Tim has been helping Gorette with the cooking, especially making chapatis, it’s good to see him busy.
We have been to Pilanesberg Game Reserve this week, north of Johannesburg. We went on five game drives and saw so many animals, rhino, elephants, zebra, kudu, wildebeest, lions(only two), a jackal, warthogs, monkeys and more – it was wonderful. We did have an incident in Hilary’s car with an elephant who came right up to the car, we switched off the engine, put the windows up and remained very quiet and he eventually walked away – quite a scare as he wasn’t happy!
We are now at Cathedral Peak in the Drakensberg area. We managed part of a guided walk yesterday but it rained and the river was running too fast to wade through, this afternoon we went hiking on our own, the scenery is magnificent. We only have another week in SA – it has been a wonderful experience, travelling and seeing so much of the country.
Thank you for all your love and support for the boys. Thank you also to Jackie who has been to Forty Hill school this week talking and sharing photos and videos of our work in Uganda.
With love and prayers.
