Resettling Ronald, Bethel visits his family, prayers for Charles, enjoying the bikes

Dear friends,
Last Monday I worked in the office sorting out the expenses for the week, I called at the bank with Trésor as we still couldn’t get last year’s statements downloaded for the GBP account – thankfully this has now been resolved! The auditors have not yet arrived!
On Tuesday Peace, Ronald, Martin and I travelled to Mubende, Jesse driving, to resettle Ronald. We had tried at a town near Mubende last year but there had been little work in the garage and Ronald hadn’t been earning enough to keep himself. This time we have found a busy garage in the centre of town and a room that he can afford. Jesse helped him transfer his furniture etc. to the new room. On Wednesday morning we met up with Ronald’s brother Ivan and his half-sister who have agreed to be helping him to settle, we then visited where he will stay. Prayers please that Ronald settles in his home town.
Thursday morning Benard came to my apartment first thing for Martin to help him with logging on to the new laptop that he brought with him to Uganda. Benard needs this for typing up the Management Committee Minutes, updating the information on the boys for the Ministry of Gender and adding photos of the boys to their files. Tresor drove him here as he was taking Bethel to see his parents and siblings for the day. The family are refugees from DRC and are all suffering from trauma, it was felt that the two younger brothers would benefit in seeing Bethel. Tresor says it was a good meeting. I then went to work.
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.’”

We now have the DIT certificates for Griffin and Joseph and they both achieved A+ Griffin would like to go to Qatar as they are advertising for cooks at a cost of 3m UGX for flights, passport, visa, etc. it sounds like the pay is good – but not sure as these advertisements can be disappointing when you actually get there. We obviously cannot be paying all this – he needs to work and save!
On Thursday evening Martin and I met up with Chantal, who I met at KIC years ago, she also worked part time with us when we were in Ggaba, she now works for the UN with refugees and has recently been visiting refugees who have found themselves in prison. It was good to catch up with her.
The young boys are enjoying the bikes, Ram, Bethel and Joseph can’t ride yet but the others are helping them to learn. At present they are just riding in the compound.
Charles has been in some pain this week and we have managed to pay for the liquid morphine he needs for the pain control also we will be providing more of the vitamin powder that helps him. Prayers please for Charles and his family.
I had thought the rainy season had begun after a couple of days rain but this doesn’t seem to be the case – it is been clear skies and sunshine, though the rain is back this morning!
Thank you for all your love and support. The boys are all fine and enjoyed football on Saturday. Martin and I will call to see them today as Martin leaves on Monday.
