Tresor inspects campsite, Charles goes to Tororo, older boys keep in touch
Sunday 2nd March 2025
Dear friends,
It’s been a quiet week and really hot here – most days it has registered 35+ degrees, which isn’t always easy to be working in!
Christine and I left the lodge early Monday morning after a relaxing stay. I disturbed about 10 Great blue Turaco’s that flew into the trees that morning, they had been near my room, on the ground, near a water bath, they were big! There were so many small birds as well – bee eaters, barbets and sunbirds – beautiful. I arrived at work after lunch.
We’ve been busy with paperwork this week and at last have the letter from the Probation Officer enabling us to submit everything for the ‘Home’ reregistration. We also had to hand in more information for our GB pound bank account as we couldn’t see our statements online and this is needed for the auditors who are coming the week after next. I called at Ken’s on Thursday morning as we both needed to sign papers.
‘Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
in the heavens.’
Psalm 8:1
The boys are all fine and have been at school. Kodet had his dental appointment but returned to school on Wednesday he has another appointment next week. Augustine has been in touch and sent me a photograph of himself working. He and Dennis are both still awaiting exam results. I had a call from Dennis who is working at a petrol station in Gulu and is fine. Also attaching a photo of Patrick working in Rukungiri. Griffin sent me a few messages and finishes his work at MCC today. He sent photos of some of the coffee’s he has made and also biscuits. I called at MCC yesterday for a coffee, he has done really well and the Manager, Robert, is extremely pleased with him.
On Tuesday Trésor went to inspect a place where we are hoping to hold a camp for some of the older boys who are now working. It will be held in April for three days when we will be bringing them together giving advice on running a small business, saving money, ensuring they have National ID and bank accounts etc. and listening to some of the issues they are facing. Dr. Alison will hold a session on keeping healthy. The place looks fine.
Petra has taken Charles back to Tororo to stay with his grandparents – he wanted to see his mother – we helped with transport and other things to make him comfortable, Petra’s sister is helping to look after him. Please be continuing to pray for Charles and his family.
The boys are playing football this week so I shall leave visiting Garuga. There are a few photos of them relaxing after coming back from school.
Thank you for all your love and support. God continues to bless our work.
Love Jane x
