Dear friends,

Three new boys arrived on Tuesday afternoon at George’s Place – Issac, Jovan and Ramseyfield – not sure I have the names correct! Peace had taken Sula to St. Matia Mulumba Vocational Institute, in Jinja to start a hairdressing course in the morning and then had to travel up to Garuga to welcome the new boys who arrived with a lady from the Ministry of Gender and her driver. It was the first time she had visited us and appreciated the home as she inspected the bedrooms, bathrooms etc. she also spent time talking with our other boys and asked if we could take more boys!!!

Unfortunately, I haven’t had much news about the new boys only some photographs. Hopefully they are settling in well, they definitely look happy receiving new towels and bedsheets. Benard has taken them for medical checks and tests at the local clinic.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29 v 11

Johnson has arrived back from school with an eye infection (the eye he was operated on a year ago) – a hospital appointment has now been arranged.

Peace also took Joseph back to Don Bosco as he was suspended for a week because of a fight! I am really surprised as Joseph has never been involved in fighting at the home and usually makes a joke when things are getting tense. He’s been very apologetic- poor lad, the Fathers’ at Don Bosco are very strict and a week’s suspension for both boys was understandable.

Geoff and I have been looking at the audited accounts in Uganda, these have now been corrected and will be agreed by us both and signed next week.

Ian went to Garuga last Sunday to talk with the boys and took my friend Sue who is staying at my apartment with him. On Monday last week Sue had a visit from Faiza (who you might remember from a few years ago, she walked from South Sudan, she stayed with Revd. John and Joyce after finishing school and did a catering course – Newsletter 2nd July, 2017) – she cooked for Sue. Ian has also been in contact with a young man, Lukas, from Germany who is visiting George’s Place today with Ian, to find out about Social Work in Uganda.

A big thank you to those of you who have sent T-shirts, pens/pencils and trainers. I shall be taking these off for shipment on Monday. We could do with some smaller size trainers, shorts and football boots, now that we have 9 young boys, if you have any.

Many thanks for all your love, kindness, prayers and support. Please do keep the three new boys in your prayers as they settle in, also Sula on his hairdressing course and Joseph.

Blessings and prayers.

Love Jane x
