Trésor and Ian meet up with Ronald and Asaph, family tracing for Ram, Musumba has a week’s holiday from school.

Last Sunday after church Ian and Trésor travelled to Mubende, Ian was on his way to Fort Portal where he has a goat farm (wonderful to see his animals so well looked after here). In a village before Mubende they met up with Ronald and Asaph. They visited Ronald’s room and also saw where Asaph was staying and working. Later they took the boys for a meal, both the boys were extremely happy to see them and chatted about a few concerns that they have. Tresor bought Ronald some food items and also an overall as he had the previous one stolen.
On Tuesday we waited all day at the office for the small secondhand car to arrive, Jessie came in the afternoon with the car but I insisted that we meet the gentleman who was signing the papers for selling the car, he arrived at about 6.30pm and eventually the transaction took place. Tresor has taken the car to be serviced and had it cleaned, it will need more work done on it in the next few weeks but is working fine and was used for the weekly shopping.

Wednesday Jessie, Peace and I travelled with Benard, Ram and Joseph (Ryan) to Mukono to continue the boys family tracing. We had arranged to meet up with Joseph’s grandfather who had agreed to take us to the boy’s mother but when we arrived in Mukono and called him, he said he hadn’t come, even though we had sent him transport money. We will now have to be in contact with the local authorities, this is the first time that we have been unable to find out the relevant information we need for the government. Joseph had been staying with the grandfather and only remembers his mother taking him to the home when he was very young, he had run away a few times but no one had even reported him missing. Please do be praying for Joseph he is a very troubled little lad.
Thankfully, we spoke with Ram’s uncle on the phone who met us and took us to meet the stepmother, they both gave us their National ID details. Ram’s father was ‘anxious’ about meeting us at his home but agreed that he will come to George’s Place to pass on his information, he did speak to Ram on the phone who was rather reluctant to have any conversation. We then went with Ram’s stepmother to the LC1 who signed and stamped our papers to show that we had found the relatives. They had actually contacted the police when Ram went missing. Family tracing days, that consist of travelling on bad roads with potholes or marram roads, traffic, dust, heat, being messed around, can be exhausting but are very necessary.
We have been busy in the office this week getting ready for the Management meeting next Thursday. The chickens at George’s Place have all stopped laying (8 of them) so they will be eaten in the next few weeks – I can’t eat them but the staff and boys will enjoy!
On Saturday afternoon Benard and Tresor took the boys swimming. I will visit the boys this afternoon after church.
