We are giving thanks to the Lord as Yusuf has started working on a farm. They have promised to train him in bee keeping. Peace is planning to visit him next week and check that everything is fine, he has been digging and planting so far and told Tresor it was hard work! Saviour has also been asked to submit his papers to The Speke Hotel on Tuesday (where he did his internship) to apply for work in ‘Service’ at the hotel. Both answers to prayer.
We had a virtual Trustees Meeting this week and managed to see and hear everyone, to agree and approve the 2025 Accounts. Our thanks to Geoff our Treasurer and Paul Reddaway our Independent Examiner. Ian Wardle also joined us online from Uganda and Heather who is at present in Cape Town – she is planning to visit me in Uganda in September.
Everything seems to be running well at George’s Place. Brian has been home as he is unwell and is on medication for an ear infection, he has an appointment with a specialist next week. I also spoke on Saturday morning to Tresor, Benard, Kenneth, Trevor, Ram, Raymond, Robert, Beckham and Moses. Benard had taken the boys earlier to school to collect their end of term reports. Ram advised me that everyone had performed well, even Charles, though he avoided having a conversation with me!
In my talk with Benard he said he was banning Ludo games, for the boys at school, until everyone has finished their homework and washing clothes!

Omoding has returned to Tororo. I also talked with Tim this week who is unwell and had messages from Augustine. Griffin, Saviour and Victor called me on Saturday they are all staying together, Griffin and Victor were on their way to work. Kodet has also sent some photos of himself on his electrical course – I am so proud of them. Tresor will visit Joshua today for his school visiting day.
We have been given a number of new school uniforms from Palmers Green High School which is sadly closing. Lynn kindly took them to the shipping agents and someone has generously donated the transport costs. We have plenty of schools in Garuga who will benefit from the blessing.
Plans had been in place to take the boys on a camp to Lake Mburo at the end of August but new legislation has come into force banning transport of groups of school age children in coaches, buses, taxis etc. as there have been so many fatal accidents on the main roads. We have postponed our trip until January and hope the ban may be lifted by then. Tresor thinks local trips down to the Scout venue might be ok but we will have to wait and see, otherwise we will be walking for picnics/outings during the school holidays.
