Dear friends,

Tresor and Zach took Ivan, Benon, Derek and Robert to Hope International in Lugazi on Monday for Vocational training. We prayed for them before they left. They met up with Ronald, Brian and later Shaffick, who had been staying with his father for the holidays. The new boys are taking courses in motor mechanics, two doing hairdressing and the other tailoring, these courses are diploma courses that do not require too much written work. Prayers please that they settle in quickly and well.

Paul has been busy sewing shirts which he is hoping to sell, returning to us our initial outlay for the materials before he makes a profit. He has been working hard and is very focused at present on starting up a small business.

“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:12‬ ‭

Tim has been here all week as he is unwell, his new medication is strong – he has been sleeping most of the time. 🙏

I signed the contract for my apartment this week and should get the keys on Tuesday next week – it will take me a few days to move in and Sue and Diana are planning to join me before the end of the month. They are away for most of next week travelling to Fort Portal and Queen Elizabeth National Park. On Thursday after work I went for a haircut – I have only had my haircut once before in Uganda – one of our church members recommended the salon and I was happy with the outcome!

Griffin has been having problems at school, I thought perhaps he was finding the work difficult and had been put in the wrong class. One evening on talking to him we found out that the problem was that he didn’t want to be at school but wanted to go for vocational training. We explained to him that he was too young and needed to wait at least a couple of years. At the end of the week Benard and I called at the school and were told that his class work had improved! Hopefully he will settle now and homework with improve as well.

Anton is in the process of burning his bricks.

Asaph, has finished his industrial training and his teacher from Don Bosco has travelled to Kampala to check up on how well he has done. There is a long assessment form that has to be filled in by the employer. Asaph will be returning to college next week to complete his carpentry course.

On Friday morning Tresor and I went to the hospital where one of our older boys is in the rehab. unit. He seems to be improving slowly, though he is expected to be there three months.

Dan is doing well – he wakes up now at 6.30am. The others wake at 5am. I think the first couple of weeks at school were tiring for him as he was getting up and leaving with the older boys, which made it a long day. Uncle Benard walks him to school now for 7am and he is home by 4.30 pm.

The weather has been cooler this week and it has rained a few times but today, Saturday, is brilliant sunshine and this afternoon we have come to the swimming pool which the boys are enjoying also uncles Benard and Tresor!

Everything is fine at George’s Place. Tomorrow Tresor and I will visit Dennis and Kodet at their boarding school, Maranatha High School – they have sent a list of things they would like us to buy, including pork from the Pork Joint!

Thank you for all your love, support and prayers, we really appreciate your commitment to our work.

Every blessing.

Jane
