Dear friends,

On Monday Asaph’s teacher came from Don Bosco to meet the man he has been working for during his industrial training and fill in the assessment. We were very happy with the results – he has been doing his best and that is all we ask for. Asaph was delighted with the report and came into the office to call his parents and give them the good news. He returns to college next Monday to finish his course.

Asaph and Paul helped Tresor and I on Friday to move some of my things into my flat, which is on the second floor, they were pleased that I paid them some money and went off into town in the afternoon to buy themselves some trousers in the market. Paul has finished his shirts and is now looking for customers to buy them.

Wednesday was a bank holiday again, Janani Luwum Day, he was the Archbishop in the Church of Uganda during the time of Idi Amin, he was arrested for treason in 1977 and shortly after killed. The boys were off school and we took them swimming during the afternoon as it was a bright sunny day.

‘Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.’ Psalm 136. 1

Sula’s sister came to collect him Saturday lunch time and he has gone with her and her young child to spend the weekend at home. Sula really enjoys swimming but bit his tongue when he was jumping in when we were at the pool on Wednesday – he has had the last two days off school as he couldn’t eat or drink but seems to have improved today!

One of our boys has been for counselling a couple of times this week, in Ntinda, I drove across Kampala on Tuesday as I couldn’t get a driver and found a small cafe that sold hot chocolate and homemade biscuits and treated myself whilst he was in the session. He had takeaway chicken and chips on the way home.

One morning two representatives of the KCCA (Kampala City Council Association) called to check on us regarding our reregistering of the organisation, we seemed to be able to answer their questions satisfactorily and now await the approval.

On Saturday morning Maria arrived and painted the boys names on their boxes before the art lesson. The boys art work is really improving, especially the shading and copying. I met up with Ken and Ian for coffee that morning.

Prayers please as we hopefully have found a new location for George’s Place, we would not be moving until Easter to make the transition as easy as possible, the house is outside Kampala, large, with a good space around and an area to play football nearby.

With love and prayers.

Jane
