Precious begins work, Easter cards from Forty Hill Primary School, football tournament, Easter celebrations
Sunday 20th April 2025
Good morning friends, Happy Easter,
Last Monday Precious started work and seems to be fitting in nicely. She only works two days a week at present. We were surprised that afternoon when we had a visit from Joseph (plumbing), to the office, he was looking really well and has been working. He is planning to come for the camp.
The boys have received via email Easter cards from Year 3 of Forty Hill Primary School – many thanks to the children for their kindness and thoughtfulness. We are putting them on the notice board.
Most of the week I have been either at the Immigration office or interpol, hopefully things are moving forward and although I don’t have a work permit yet my visa has been extended.
It has rained most days but I did manage to go to Garuga on Wednesday, and Griffin cleaned my car. The auditors and Petra had been there in the morning to check our store and premises – everything was fine. We even have to account for things that have been given/donated to us – it is so thorough. The minibus had a cracked windscreen, a football had hit it! Tresor arranged for someone to come and fix it as I was concerned about using it on the expressway.
The younger boys football tournament was all day on Friday, they really enjoy these events. They managed to reach the semifinals – but were disappointed at not winning the cup!
‘Hallelujah’ ‘Christ is risen’. ‘He is risen indeed.’
Saturday afternoon I went to George’s Place, having collected an Easter cake and we took the boys swimming, it had rained all morning but brightened up about 2pm. The older boys enjoyed a game of football in the grounds.
I had asked the boys if they wanted to come to my church on Sunday but the majority wanted to go to Worship Harvest to celebrate Easter, they are having a special lunch of chicken and fried fish – a favourite, cooked by Vincent.
Tomorrow we are going to a Scout site, for a picnic and activities. It is the first time I have been there, it’s near the sailing club that the older boys are camping at next week so it will be good to check it out as we are planning a visit with them as well on Wednesday. Most of the plans are in place for next week’s camp. Prayers please for the camp and for Benard who has visited a clinic as he is feeling unwell.
Patrick arrived on Friday from Rukungiri, he needs some work done on his teeth that I promised to help him with and Brian from north of Nebbi has also arrived for the camp, we have seen or heard little from him but he phones Patrick our security guard regularly as they speak the same language and nobody else does. They are both working, Patrick doing welding and Brian in a garage.
I’ve been busy watching church services online, Good Friday we had a service in Debbie and Phil’s garden, in the evening, it reminds me so much of my garden in Forty Hill, though it’s much larger and full of tropical trees/plants with birds of prey flying overhead.
Thank you for all your love and support for our work we do appreciate your generosity and kindness.
Love Jane x
