Dear friends,

The boys are all fine. There was a bank holiday in Uganda on Wednesday so I had the opportunity of talking to all the boys at George’s Place on WhatsApp. Tresor and Benard took them swimming in the afternoon, to the little pool we are allowed to use at Sky Beach. Ian also called in to see and talk with the boys. Asaph came for the day.

Dennis returned to school on Thursday going into Senior 5. Peace was unwell at the beginning of the week, and unable to take him earlier.

“Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.” Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭

Yesterday all the boys went to the football academy, there was a shortage of football boots and shorts but they managed and some fell asleep in the minibus on the way home. They will be attending alternate Saturdays which will be good for them. They enjoy football and having training instead of just kicking the ball around will help them improve their game.

Thankfully I’ve been able to authorise money transfers from South Africa, which is a relief as the staff tax and NSSF contributions were due.

We’ve been travelling this week, up the west coast from Cape Town to Clanwilliam, and back through Paternoster, a lovely little fishing village on the coast and then to Langebaan, then visiting Stellenbosh, Franschhoef and Swellendam. I’m really enjoying my holiday. It’s not very warm here but I think that’s because it had been 32 degrees before I left Uganda and I’m noticing the difference!

Prayers please for Tim, he is going to spend some time with an aunt in the village, he is still unwell and doesn’t seem to be interested in food at all. He did have a hospital appointment this week but I’ve not heard the outcome yet. I think we will arrange some private counselling for him.

Some of the older boys who are in vocational training have been in touch and they seem to be doing well in their courses – thank you for all your love and support. Please do be praying for the staff and boys whilst I’m away, I’m missing them all.

With love and prayers.
