Dear friends,

Diana and I moved into our flat last Sunday, I wish I had taken a photograph of the open lorry piled up high with the remainder of our belongings. The driver got stopped by the police as they were following me along the Ggaba Road. We moved in successfully, up two flights of stairs with the cooker, fridge, washing machine, beds, sofa etc. being carried up by three strong men and Augustine! Sue also came with us but has since travelled to Australia as one of her family members unexpectedly is unwell. The following day Patrick our security guard from the old house and Peanut moved into the new George’s Place as we need a guard there all the time even before we move in. On Monday morning I went on the roof of the flat to watch the sunrise over Lake Victoria. It was a beautiful sight.

Paul’s half sister came and visited us one afternoon. Paul is now over 18 and we are looking to resettle him, though he doesn’t want to return to the village. On Saturday Benard and I took him to meet with ‘Wembley Mo’ a well known Ugandan singer who looks after street connected children that dance in his U-tube videos. He would be willing to have Paul stay in the home and make outfits for the children when they perform. I need to discuss this more with Peace and Paul’s sister before a decision is made. A video was taken of our visit which I will put on Facebook. Benard was really pleased to meet Wembley.

More individual photographs of our boys were taken at the school and a group one for our files. There was a very sad situation at their school this week as one of the younger children died in the classroom having been electrocuted from putting keys in a socket. His father is a teacher at the school and teaches the older classes. We were all very sorry to learn of this.

Musumba has done well in his midterm exams and was first in three subjects, maths science and social studies. He hasn’t had his English results yet. He is such a nice lad.

The water company has turned off the water in our area the last couple of days to do some maintenance work, fortunately we still have water in our tank, but water is being sold at 2,000UGX a jerrycan, it is usually 200UGX. Victor was telling me they cooked at school with lake water on Friday which they had purified. Thankfully the boys seem fine. I won’t even let them swim in the lake!

It’s been a really hot week and of course we took the boys swimming on Saturday to help them cool down. The boys looked at the video of ‘Wembley’s’ children and Dan and Kasita decided to show us some water acrobatics as well. Lots of press-ups were being done around the edge of the pool, everyone keeping fit.

Ronald has sent me some messages and photos from Hope International. The boys there are all fine and he says they are working hard. I also spoke to Anton this week and I am planning to visit him at the end of next week.

Thank you for all your love and kindness.

We give God the Glory – He is changing our boys lives.
