Monday 22nd April, 2024

Dear friends,

I eventually arrived back in Entebbe at about 6pm on Friday evening. I won’t go into all the details but it was an extremely difficult journey, being stuck in Dubai for two nights, ‘sleeping’ on the floor and queuing for boarding passes! Amazingly, God was in the situation and I met up with Pieter from Kampala International Church and his colleague Bill, (MAF pilots), who were instrumental in helping me to get on a plane. Prayers please for all those people, especially young mums travelling alone with children and pregnant women still at the airport. Of course one of my cases went missing which was full of things for the boys and staff – hopefully it will arrive in the next few days.

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:8

All is well in Homes of Promise, Jessie met me, and wanted me to go directly to George’s Place as Peace was there having met with the Health Inspector that day (the HI on our Management Committee appears not to be the official HI!) I eventually arrived home at 7.30pm and after a shower ‘slept like a log’. Good to be back.

On Saturday I decided to travel to Jinja as I had signed up for the ladies weekend retreat at Vision for Africa, Prayer Mountain and although I had missed some of the sessions found it refreshing, relaxing, rejuvenating and a blessing.

I have met the new boys now and will call to see them again this week to get to know them.

Thank you for coming to our Afternoon Tea on the 14th, I was delighted to see so many of you. Last Monday I took the things you had given me for shipment to Tottenham and later in the day Allyson Williams the Mothers’ Union Links rep. called with two laptops for the MU in Mbale and 20 MU badges (thankfully these were in my hand luggage, though I don’t know how happy I was about that in Dubai!).

As we begin another week, not knowing of any trials or difficulties we may have to face we are blessed to have the assurance that we are not alone, that we are precious and loved by God. Thank you for all your prayers, love and support.

With every blessing
